My Story

Hi - I’m Ruby Rose Carlson and welcome to my website! I am an engaged member of Generation Z, an environmental steward and among the first female Eagle Scouts in the United States. Growing up in Southern California fostered my love for nature because I could easily access many diverse climates. From backpacking Yosemite, hiking the Santa Monica Mountains, swimming in the Pacific Ocean to snow-skiing Mammoth and scuba diving along the shores of Catalina Island, I was raised by nature. The most impactful experiences of my life have taken place outside in the elements. The sun, the wind, the rain, the snow; the unpredictable environment of our natural world provides a backdrop that always keeps things challenging and engaging. In my experience, nothing has been as humbling as hiking through nature for weeks on end, equipped with everything I needed to survive in a single bag strapped across my shoulders.

Nature is an integral part of my life which is why I am so concerned about the future of our ecosystems. I strive to encourage and inspire others to care about the environment, understand its intricacies, and take tangible action to help curb climate change. Some hobbies of mine include playing the piano, gardening, hiking, backpacking, reading, volunteering in my community, and advocating for our Mother Earth.
